Thomas wanted to come to the U. S. because “I wanted to get to learn your culture and your way of living better. I think it is important to get out in the world and to learn to see things from different points of view.”

The scholastic sports program is new to Thomas because there is no such program in Norway. He misses the skiing possibilities there, his two dogs and living by the ocean. Right now, however, he appreciates being able to learn about a different culture.

Thomas is considering attending a college in the United States. He has learned to like this country very much, and would like to spend a few more years of his life here.

Annette Mueller, a senior from Switzerland, eryoys volleyball, cross-country, track, Girl Scouts, being a member of the Varsity Club, reading, horseback riding and music. She is a member of the RCHS cross-country team this year.

Annette wanted to come to the U. S. to see how other people and their lifestyles are different and to learn English better.

“This school is much more fun. You are doing more different things like plays, class rings, and games against other schools,” Annette said as she compared Switzerland’s schools to RCHS.

She is most impressed with the freedom of Americans to do what they want to do. Many of her friends in Switzerland dream of coming to America.
