Mr. Geoghegan also wrote documentaries for motion pictures, radio and television, and lectured on the communications field at American and Georgetown Universities.
He was a member of the National Press Club, the Broadcast Pioneers, the Blackthorn Group, and the Army and Navy Club. He had served on the advisory committee of the Maryland Society for Crippled Children and Adults and on the civilian advisory board of Providence Hospital. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Martha of Chevy Chase and Woodville, a son Thomas III of Chevy Chase, a daughter Sheila of Alexandria, a sister Mrs. James Led with of Pompton Lakes, N. J., a brother John of Baraboo, Wis., and one grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Feb. 2 at the Precious Blood Catholic Church, Culpeper, by Father Leo Zonneveld and Father Charles Gerloff. Interment was at Culpeper National Cemetery.
Hugh Dyer
Hugh Murphy Dyer, 51, of Orange, died Jan. 29 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Dyer was a general contractor. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and of the Orange Moose Lodge 2196, ( _
He is survived t>y nis wife Sally Pearl Dyer of Orange, a daughter
