Annette would like to come back to this country because she can’t imagine going back to Switzerland and never seeing her American friends again. She was afraid that she wouldn’t be staying with a nice family, but her fears of homesickness never came true because she is living with a “great family.”
Richard Perriman is from Skipton, Yorkshire, England. He is an 11th grader who eiyoys watching basketball games, going to school, cycling, and attending dances and parties. He especially eiyoys football and basketball because there is little opportunity to eiyoy those sports in England. Also, he added, they are a good way to meet other people.
When asked why he wanted to come to study in the United States he said, “There are many different walks of life that can be taken. I just thought that it would be a great experience for me to see the different culture of the U. S.”
School and team spirit are the biggest contrasts between RCHS and English schools that he has found. English schools have sports, and schools battle against each other, but there is no school or community support of the teams; therefore, no school spirit.
