In its recent 36th annual juried exhibition, the Knickerbocker Artists awarded Patton Wilson the Grumbacher Gold Medal and a cash award for his painting “Dominion.”
The Knickerbocker Artists was founded in 1947 in New York City and is governed by prominent professional artists dedicated to promoting the exceptional work of living artists - painters in all media, graphics and sculpture on a national scale. Each year an open, juried exhibition is held in the Salmagundi Club Galleries at 47 Fifth Avenue.
The exhibition represented current concepts in painting and sculpture by both members and nonmembers of the association.
“Dominion” is an egg tempera in the permanent collection of the Wilmington Trust Company.
