Mr. and Mrs. Bruce C. Sloane of Boscawen are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lita to Mark C. Leber, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Leber of Andover.

Miss Sloane, a 1983 graduate of Merrimack Valley High School, is a senior at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, where she is majoring in philosophy.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Cleo F. Louis of SperryviUe.

Mr. Leber, also a 1983 graduate of Merrimack Valley High Sdiool, is a senior majoring in communications at Northwestern University in Evanston, 111.

An August wedding is planned.

Memorial scholarship

grant available

The Rappahannock County Garden Club will once again offer the Frances J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship grants to graduating seniors of Rappahannock County High School for the purpose of continuing their education.

One grant in the amount of $1,500.00 will be given as well as one grant of $500.00.

Applications for grants are available at the Guidance Department in the high school. All applications must be returned to the Guidance Department by April 15.

Kyle Willard Kirkpatrick arrived Saturday, March 14, at 4:15 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas. The first child of Mark Willard and Lisa LuttreU Kirkpatrick of Post, Texas, Kyle weighed eight pounds ' and five ounces and measured 21inches in length.

The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Burrell M. LuttreU of Silsbee, Texas, and Landon H. LuttreU of AmissvUle is the maternal great-grandfather.

Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Willard Kirkpatrick of Post, Texas. Paternal great-grandparents are Willard Kirkpatrick of Post, and Mr. and Mrs. John Lott of Lubbock.
