Last Resort (an informal assembledge including Cherry Vanneman, Rae Haase, Daphne Hutchinson, Marie Davis, Nancy Anderson, Jane Mullin, Richard Abell and Arlene Frye) have decided to donate an as yet unspecified sum to the Rappahannock Welfare Department to be used to meet short-term emergency needs.
“The Department of Social Services is already set up to handle assessments and administration,” noted Mrs. Vanneman, who is herself a social worker with Culpeper’s Department of Social Services. “The staff knows the community’s resources and can judge qualifications.”
