To the editor:
Thanks from those of us who helped to organize Saturday’s events, to the more than 100 people of Rappahannock who turned out and picked up litter for our county-wide clean-up day. It appeared that most people enjoyed themselves doing it, although we all had to cope with mixed feelings that come to you as you pick up other folks’ used baby diapers, vodka bottles and fast food trash.
It must be true that many who drove by in cars had mixed feelings, too. You cannot help but wonder what the chronic local litterer might feel, seeing the groups of young scouts out picking up the garbage they have been so freely releasing from their stewardship.
