• S.B. 399: Provides that local school boards have the option of implementing a locally developed family life education program or a program structured to comply with the Board of Education’s standards of learning and guidelines for family life education. Each local school board shall develop and implement a procedure to provide parents to “opt-out” of the family life program. Local school boards shall be provided funding for such programs.
• S.B. 391: Requires at least 24 hours notice before performing an abortion on an unmarried woman under the age of 18 years unless there is prior parental consent.
