To the editor:
A footnote to our joint letter. Never was the expression OUTREACH more applicable than on Thursday evening when we entertained the Russians at the covered dish supper in the Washington fire hall. Many people reached out in many ways to make it a success.
Roger Roach and the Washington Volunteer Fire Department presented us with a beautifully clean fire hall. Donna Parson, Dot Mank and Mary Beth Shankle arranged the spectacular table decorations and organized the serving of the food. Ken and Mary Beth Shankle and Sid Mank helped to move furniture, provide firewood and clean up afterward. Dieter Knuepfer provided materials and tended the fires.
