Since the Rt. 17 ban was instituted, there have been four fatalities in two accidents in Rappahannock County which involved tractor-trailers.

Under the Highway Department’s present position, the lifting of the Rt. 17 truck ban will not await completion of a third phase of the construction project for a section of the road near Marshall, he told the Rappahannock supervisors.
