• Motivating students disenchanted with traditional education.
• Fostering good work attitudes.
• Providing students with opportunities to explore career choices.
During and after the vocational education, graduates and businesses also profit from increased annual hours of employment, higher earnings, less on-the-job training, higher employment rates and greater job productivity.
Along with the rest of the PTEC students, the Home Economics Related Occupations chapter of the Future Homemakers of America will participate in a variety of activities, including demonstrations, dinners and contests. The 11,000 FHA students nationwide will observe FHAHERO Week in conjuntion with Vocational Education Week.
“FHA-HERO Week,” said chapter president Penny Slaughter, “gives us a chance to expand the traditional image and let the public know that our organization is concerned and doing something about nutrition and health, care for the elderly and handicapped, alcohol and drug abuse, community service and leadership and development.”
