CMH blood drive
Culpeper Memorial Hospital will host a Red Cross blood drive on Friday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to join Culpeper Memorial’s staff in helping to meet the demand for blood in Culpeper County. Appointment times are being reserved to keep lines short and minimize waiting time. Donors are urged to call the hospital at 829-4305 to schedule an appointment in advance.

The dream workshop
Dr. Denise H. Horton, a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Washington, D.C., and Rappahannock County, will conduct an introductory workshop on understanding your dreams at Lord Fairfax Community College on Sunday, Feb. 7, from 1-5 p.m. Psychic dreaming, recurring dreams, how to interpret dream symbols and learning how to “program” your dreams will be covered. A four-part class on women’s health will be held at Middle St. Gallery, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Know your heart
Fauquier Hospital will hold the second session of the free Know Your Heart series Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Education Center. The topic of this lecture is Current Diagnostic Test and Treatment Options for People with Heart Disease. Dr. Christopher Leet will discuss various tests used to diagnose heart disease: resting electrocardiogram, graded exercise tests, echocardiogram, Thallium stress tests, and coronary artery catheterization.
