Supervisor Nelson Lane seconded the motion for a public hearing here, although to Mr. Estes’s question, he acknowledged that he’d voted for the comprehensive plan which designates the area for future development and calls for the dual-laning of Rt. 211 between Washington and Sperryville. The motion was killed by majority vote, with Supervisors Massie and Lane voting for the local hearing. Supervisors Bingham and Gilkey joined Mr. Estes in voting against the hearing.
