and struck a bank on the north side of the road. After striking the bank the truck flipped over and travelled another 30 to 50 feet before coming to rest in the northbound lane of Rt. 522.
Ms. Day was trapped in the truck, and was extricated by the first rescue units on the scene. According to radio transmissions from the scene to the Washington VFD Advanced Life Support unit, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was begun on Ms. Day at the scene. Shewas rushed by Washington’s medic unit to Culpeper Memorial Hospital, where she was airlifted by the Pegasus med-evac helicopter to U.Va. hospital.
