Lamaze childbirth series
A seven-week childbirth course will begin Friday, Feb. 19, at Trinity Episcopal Church, from 7 to 9 p.m. Instruction in the Lamaze method of breathing will be provided, as well as information on labor and delivery and the newborn. ‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’
The movie Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 5 and 6. Trekkies rejoice! The adventure continues in the latest chapter of the Star Trek saga. The entire crew of the USS Enterprise is together again for another perilous voyage that propels them from the far reaches of the final frontier of space back through time to 20th-century San Francisco. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home combines intelligence and wit with breathtaking thrills. The movie is rated PG. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Fashion show planned
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will sponsor a fashion show on the theme Luck of the Irish Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Advance tickets and/or patron ads may be purchased from any member.
Gallery to rock ’n’ roll Feb. 5
Dress up for a Golden Oldies 50s rock ’n’ roll party at Middle Street Gallery in Washington on Friday, Feb. 5, at 8:30.
The Valentine party will feature the romantic color red, jitterbug, totally sentimental gifts and new work by gallery artists. The event celebrates the opening of the Cooperative’s “Art Shop,” a new section dedicated to small items made with big imagination - one'-of-a-kind cards, prints, pots, artists’ books, handmade paper, baskets, etc. Admission to the party is $3. .
Valentine’s wares and new work will be on display through Feb. 14. Gallery hours are from 11 to 6 Friday, Saturday and Sunday and by appointment. Call 675-3440. And don’t forget - pony tails, bobby socks and Brylcream on Friday the 5th.
