Brad Fisher told his fellow council members that he felt since both apartments and offices are included under permitted retail uses, Mr. Giles' proposal could be accommodated by interpreting the ordinance to allow the two uses under the grandfather clause — since the store is grandfathered as a retail use.
If that’s the council’s decision, Mr. Reynolds replied, “Just make sure you understand that’s what good for the goose is good for the gander. If you do it for one, you’re going to have to do it for all, or you’ll find yourselves in court.”
