Abraham Lincoln said that "Rivers follow the line of least resistance, that's why they are so crooked!" Fact is, not much happens in’ life that does not meet and overcome some form of resistance. The greater the obstacles overcome, the stronger the person.
As one leader put it years ago during some national crises: "What does not destroy me makes me stronger." Jesus made it quite clear that he had not come to make life easy, but to make persons great. And without conflict and crises, real growth cannot happen
It is precisely because we confront and overcome life's mountains that strength and wisdom become ours. Jesus himself said: ‘1 strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life.. (Matt. 7:14)
