The Rappahannock National

Bank at Washington elected its first woman director at its meeting Monday. Mrs. Mary L. Payne, who has been an employee of the bank since 1951, was named to the bank’s board of directors. She has been cashier since 1972.

Rappahannock Deputy Robert Jenkins Jr. has received certificates for the completion of courses on jail operations and jail management. The course, developed by the University of Wisconsin under the auspices of the National Institute of Corrections, Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, will enable the deputy to handle his duties in a more competent, professional manner.
