Applicants must have been a physical resident of Virginia 30 days prior to applying for testing.

Persons interested in taking the test may apply at their local office of the Superintendent of Schools in the county in which they reside.

Applications will be accepted through March 4. A fee of $15 is charged for the battery of five tests and $3 for each re-test. Applicants who apply must present their Social Security card or another means of identification when an application is made for GED.
