Woman’s Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Pat Giles in Washington. All members are urged to attend.
Barbecue dinner planned
A barbecue dinner will be served March 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rappahannock County Elementary School to benefit the annual seventh grade class trip to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Richmond. Garden Club lo sponsor trip
to Philadelphia Flower Show
The Rappahannock County Garden Club is sponsoring a trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show Wednesday, March 9. The fee of $28 includes bus fare and admission ticket to the flower show. The bus will leave the Sperryville Emporium at 7:30 a.m. and will stop at the new commuter parking lot outside Warrenton around 8 a.m. A check for $28 should be made out to the Rappahannock County Garden Club and sent to Mrs. Eino Siira, Rt. 1, Box 285-C, Sperryville 22740. Only a few seats are left for this trip so call Mrs. Siira at 987-8385 for your reservation.
Weight Rally to be held
The Ways and Means Club of the Macedonia Baptist Church will sponsor a weight rally Saturday, March 13, at 6 p.m. The Men’s Chorus of Macedonia will present a full concert. Rev. James A. Price, pastor, says the public is invited.
Valentines, new works at Middle St.
A new show of selected works by gallery artists is on view at Middle St. Gallery through February. Included in the exhibition are handcolored photographs and collages by Mahan and Marshall, cicada studies in colored pencil by Purnell, cow landscapes in watercolor by Lewis, a large acrylic seascape by Griffin and new ceramics by Drevas.
Also available in the new Art Shop are one-of-a-kind Valentines and other cards by Drevas, Hoyer, Moore and Marshall. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and by appointment. Call 675-3440 for information or an appointment.
