Many years ago I read a book by A. A. Milne entitled archie arid mekitabel. archie was a cockroach who wrote letters to “The Boss” by hopping from one key on the typewriter to another. He could not capitalize the letters, of course, and could not punctuate, but he managed to get across an account of the gay antics of mehitabel. mehitabel was an elderly cat, and archie did not approve of her way of life, but she told him in no uncertain terms that “there was a dance in the old dame yet.”
There are in the county several “dames” in whom there is a dance yet and who enjoy life but who are not physically able, nor do they want to continue to have
