Geographic slide show Feb. 22
Retired National Geographic photographer Joe Scherschel will present a series of three slide shows at the Gay Street Theatre Monday, Feb. 22, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The show is part of the Monday Night Alternatives series, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library and RAAC. The public is invited, and admission is free.
Gallery coffeehouse
The gallery coffeehouse will be held Saturday, Feb. 20. Please come with your talent or just come to listen. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $2 and refreshments \yill be available. .
Historical Society to meet Feb. 21
The winter meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Rappahannock County courthouse in Washington. The guest speaker will be Mrs. H. J. N. Graves of Luray, who will speak on the Germans who settled in the Shenandoah Valley during the Colonial period and the unique “forthouses” they built as defense against Indian attack. She illustrates her talk with a collection of excellent color slides. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. Refreshments will be served. All members and interested persons are cordially invited.
