Rappahannock Legal Service* Inc., which provides free civil legaT services for local low-income residents, has announced the appointment of Jamie B. Aliperti as the new managing attorney of its Culpeper branch office.
Mr. Aliperti succeeds Carter Foulds, who was the Culpeper managing attorney from February 1984 until January 1988. Mr. Foulds has left the program to take a position as assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Orange County.
Mr. Aliperti received a BA in political science and history from Cor lumbia University in 1976, and earned his Juris Doctor degree iq 1981 from the College of William and Mary. He has previously served as an attorney with three other Virginia legal aid programs: Legal Aid Society of the New River Valley in Christiansburg (1981-1984), Client Centered Legal Services of South-" west Virginia in Castlewood (19841987), and Charlottesville-Albemarle Legal Aid Society in Charlottesville (1987-1988).
Rappahannock Legal Services was organized in 1973 as the Fredericksburg Area Legal Aid Society.The name was changed to Rappahannock Legal Services in 1970 when the program expanded to» serve the Northern Neck of Vir-. ginia. The Culpeper office was opened in 1980 to serve the counties of Culpeper, Orange, Madison, Fauquier, and Rappahannock. The telephone number is 703-825-‘ 3131.
