Ruritan Club president Bill Segrest announced ground-breaking last week for the new community center at Stuarts Field. Footings have been poured and work is progressing on laying the block this week. Funds are urgently needed to complete the project. The Ruritans appreciate the assistance of everyone in the community. Working together the center can become a reality. Many in the community enjoyed the sunrise service held at the United Methodist Church. Following the service a delicious breakfast prepared by the men of the church was eryoyed.
A group of boys from Massanova Christian Academy and young men of the Massanova Pentecostal Church enjoyed a hike in the mountains of Highland County on Saturday, April 2.
“Water is quite possibly the single most important catalyst in losing weight arid keeping it off,” states Dr. Donald D. Robertson, who spoke to the Amissville TOPS chapter last week on the benefits of water, especially druing weight reduction. Dr. Robertson states on the average a person should drink two quarts of water daily; however, the overweight person needs one additional eight-ounce glass for 25 pounds of excess weight.
