Onie Mercer

Mrs. Onie C. Mercer, 71, of The Plains, died April 4 at Fauquier Hospital.

Mrs. Mercer was bom in Rectortown Nov. 4, 1916, the daughter of the late Grant and Lurlie Jarmans Canard.

She is survived by her husband Jesse F. Mercer,a son Paul F. Mercer, The Plains, two foster sons, Julian L. Brubaker Jr., King George, and Stephen Brubaker, Warrenton, a brother Raymond Canard, Stoddard, Wise., three sisters, Ruth Coomes, Owensboro, Ky., Minnie Glascock and Rachel Caylor, The Plains, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mercer was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church, where her funeral was conducted April 6 at 2 p.m. at Rev. John Willis. Interment was at the Marshall cemetery.
