There is no assurance of confidentiality of patient records when the nurse is working in the clinic or out of her office. A partition to cubicle and block the nurse’s desk from the waiting room is recommended.”

“Things are awfully jammed up in there,” agreed Supervisor Mike Massie.

“You should have come on a clinic day!” said Mr. Full. Noting that he’d been able to find only two commercial structures in or near Washington big enough to house the Health Department, he described Mr. Giles’ terms as good since the rental contract at $8.50 per square foot is for five years with the landlord taking care of water and maintenance bills. Mrs. Day was not willing to estimate what rental would run should the Clopton House be remodeled. “Mrs. Day said she’d have to see what it cost before commiting herself.”

Grumbling about the rent increase but acknowledging that the Health Department has few options, the Board of Supervisors by consensus endorsed Mr. Full’s proposal for a short-term lease at the Clopton House and a move to new quarters at the Cash Store by July 1, 1989.
