CALL FOR A MASS MEETING OF THE REPUBLICAN

PARTY OF VIRGINIA • COUNTY OF RAPPAHANNOCK I, Robert H. Ingle, Jr., Chairman of the Republican Party of Rappahannock County, do hereby issue a call for a mass meeting of all members of the Republican Party of Rappahannock County, to be held at Rappahannock Court House in Washington, Virginia, on April 29,1988, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The purposes of the meeting are: 1. The election of 5 delegates and 5 alternates to represent Rappahannock County at the State Convention of the Republican Party of Virginia to be held at the Roanoke Civic Center Coliseum, Roanoke, Virginia, starting at two o'clock (2.00) p.m. local time on Friday, June 10, 1988 for the purpose of nominating a Republican Candidate for the Office of United States Senator; electing twenty (20) delegates at large and twenty (20) alternate delegates at large to the Republican National Convention to be held at the Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana. or its alternate site beginning on August 15, 1988; nominating two (2) electors at large to be voted for in the Presidential Election on November 8, 1988; electing a State Chairman; nominating a National Committeeman and a National Committeewoman and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Convention. 2. The election of 5 delegates and 5 alternates to represent Rappahannock County at the Seventh District Convention to be held at Blackwell Auditorium, Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Virginia, on Saturday, May 21, 1988, at 10:00 o'clock a m., local time, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the House of Representatives to represent the Seventh Congressional District of Virginia, to be voted on in the General Election, November 8,1988; to elect a District Chairman; elect three (3) delegates and three (3) alternate delegates to the Republican National Convention to be held at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, or its alternate site, beginning on August 15,1988; nominate one (1) elector to be voted for in the Presidential election on November 8,1988; and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention. 3. The election of a Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer, and members of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee. Prescint (Magisterial Districts) as authorized by the State Party Plan are entitled to representation by a total of 23 members, as follows: Washington (Hampton)..3 Woodville Stonewall Hawthron..4 Amissville (Jackson).4 Flint Hill (Wakefield).3 Sperryville (Piedmont).3 Chester Gap (Wakefield).1 At Large.5 4. The transaction of such other business as may property come before the meeting. Pre-filing is required for persons wishing to be elected delegates or alternates to the State Convention and/or Seventh District Convention. Anyone wishing to be considered a delegate or alternate to either Convention is required to notify the Chairman in writing by April 26,1988,6:00 p.m. local time (postmarks are NOT acceptable), addressed to Robert H. Ingle, Jr., Chairman of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee at P.O. Box 143, Amissville, VA 22002, and must include their full name, mailing address, phone number, and social security number. A filing fee of $25.00 for the State Convention and $10.00 fee for the District Convention must accompany the declaration of candidacy for delegate or alternate to either Convention, which will be refunded if the candidate is not elected to serve as a delegate or alternate. Make checks payable to the "Rappahannock County Republican Committee." Qualifications for Participation in Party Actions: All legal and qualified voters of Rappahannock County, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, or sex, under the laws of the Commonwealth o< Virginia, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who express in open meeting, if requested, their intent to support all its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in this Mass Meeting.
