learn that the plans did not call for being able to drive up to the library entrance. She said it should be designed so that it would be possible to drive up to the entrance, drop people off and then go to park. "Otherwise,” she said, "it will be like the kitchen door. They'll all use the back way. 1 don’t think a church or bank or library should sink into the background. There are a lot of hills in Rappahannock; there's only one library. The entrance should be impressive."
Mr. Mathews said he would try to alter the plans for the road so it would be possible to drive up and drop passengers off but not park at the entrance.
He said that he had taken out the fireplace in the new plans and put in a quiet room. If the addition w ere to be built along with the rest of the library, the quiet room could be moved to the back of it. "I liked the fireplace,” Mrs. Jamieson said. “It really anchored that end of the building!"
