Beth O’Bannon, valedictorian
of the graduating class of Rappahannock County High School, has been given the annual award of The Reader’s Digest Association for students who by their successful school work give promise of attaining leadership in the community, it was announced today by Dennis Wingfield, principal. Miss O’Bannon will receive an honorary one-year subscription to The Reader’s Digest in any one of its 13 language-editions which she chooses, and a personal certificate from the Editors “in recognition of past accomplishments and in anticipation of unusual achievement to come.”

Members of Sperrvville
Rescue Squad are bringing to a close their house-tohouse canvas to secure operating funds for the volunteer organization. Letters have been mailed to area residents and personal solicitations have been made. If anyone has not been contacted they are asked to get in touch with a squad member or officer of Sperrvville Rescue Squad and make a contribution.
