Wanted: Miss Rappahannock
The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will sponsor its annual Miss Rappahannock Beauty Pageant this Saturday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Rappahannock County High School. The event is open to all young women between the ages of two and 21. There will also be a mother/daughter division this year. All contestants must secure a $10 sponsorship fee, and should plan to attend the rehearsal on Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at RCHS.
Call for entries
Interested artists are invited to submit photographs, paintings, drawings and sculptures of people in Rappahannock County for a juried show entitled: “Faces of Rappahannock,” to be presented at Middle St. Gallery, June 2-25. This show will be juried by Washington portrait photographer Susan Harrison, one of the Virginia Museum of the Arts Affiliate Artists. The show will be curated by Dr. Denise Horton, and questions may be addressed to her at 675-3771 or to the Gallery, 675-3440.
Plant sale
Wakefield’s annual plant sale will continue through Friday, May 12.
