The community was saddened to learn of the deaths of little Carla Sabrina Lewis, age 3 and Carla Frances Lewis, 6 months, who were drowned in the flood Friday night in Culpeper on Rt. 652. Their mother, Carla S. Lewis, clung to a tree for about two hours before being rescued. Their car had stalled and was swept off a bridge.
Our thoughts and prayers are also with Elsie Mae Dodson and her family at the loss of her mother on Thursday, May 4.
Congratulations to Christine Marie Sheads and Glen F. Cooper II who have announced wedding plans for September 2.
The community is very proud of Tonja Whorton, a senior at Massanova Christian Academy. She was selected to receive a scholarship to attend Computer Learning Center in Washington. The value of her award is close to $11,000. Tonja is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Whorton.
Have a great Mother’s Day Sunday to all the moms in our community!
