The only other real increases are in salaries, he said, and in the case of the constitutional officers, “those are set in Richmond, not here. The Board of Supervisors doesn’t supplement anything."
With most of the increases due to salary, the rest are "nickel and dime things," Mr. McCarthy said. "It would be hard to make appreciable cuts without causing real problems with the buildings the county owns."
