Park begins

Shenandoah National Park Superintendent J.W. Wade announced that the Park’s visitor centers will be staffed on a reduced schedule until visitation increases this spring.
The Byrd Visitor Center at Big Meadows, Milepost 51, is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday through Sunday. The Center will return to a daily schedule on March 1. The Dickey Ridge Visitor Center, Mile 4.6, is closed until the end of March.
Shenandoah National Park will remain open every day, and the Skyline Drive will be open for use unless closed by inclement weather. All campgrounds, lodging, and food services will reopen in the spring.
Small business
seminars at LFCC
Lord Fairfax Community College will continue its series of seminars for small-business operators and employees beginning this month.
Seminar topics scheduled for the Spring Semester are: Supervising and Motivating Employees; Counseling and Disciplining Employees; Decision Making and Problem Solving; and Promotion and Advertising. Each of these seminars will be presented, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on a Saturday and repeated on a Monday at the same time. Individual seminar fees are $39, which includes lunch and training materials.
Additionally, four half-day seminars are scheduled for 9 a. m.-noon or 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays. These include: Clear Thinking; Communicating With People; Effective Writing; and Time Management. The fee for these seminars is $20.
