The 1980’s started quietly
for the Rappahannock supervisors with a short meeting last Thursday devoted primarily to routine matters. The most significant action came after a halfhour executive session when the board reconvened and voted unanimously to transfer $14,000 from the county’s general fund for purchase of 6.87 acres as an Amissvile dumpster site. The property, a part of Reginald Clatterbuck’s estate.
The time has come to begin thinking about a reunion. June 6, 1960 is the date to be celebrated. All graduates of RCHS on that date are requested to send addresses and any suggestions concerning the reunion to Jacqueline Marlowe Newton, Star Rt. 4, Box 169-H, Brightwood, Virginia 22715 or Elizabeth Latham Streagle, Rt. 1, Box 10, Amissville, Virginia 22002.

Juliette Michelle Burke,
daughter of Richard and Judith Burke of Huntly, has been recognized by the 1984-85 edition of “Who’s Who Among High School Students in America.” Julie is presently a senior at Rappahannock County High School. She is serving as President of the Student Government, VicePresident of the National Honor Society, Assistant Editor of the school yearbook and Captain of the Volleyball team.
The Sperryville Community 4-H Club will meet on Monday, January 21 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall.
