bans smoking
Smoking has been acknowledged to be both a health and fire hazard. Therefore, beginning Jan. 1, Warren Memorial Hospital announced ft has become a smoke-free facility, according to a hospital spokesman.
In providing a smoke-free environment for patients, visitors, physicians and staff, the “no-smoking” policy will apply to all employees, physicians, patients, auxilians and visitors. “This new policy means fresher, cleaner air for all to breathe,” said Denise Eastham chairwoman of the Warren Memoriai Hospital Smoking Policy Committee.
More than 32 hospitals in Virginia will be completely smoke-free by Jan. 1,1991.
