Ruby Elliot
Mrs. Ruby Virginia Scott Elliot, 77, of Culpeper died Jan. 4 at Eldercare, Charlottesville.
She was a native of Culpeper County and had lived in Culpeper all of her life.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Proctor of Culpeper, Elizabeth Patton of Fredericksburg and Jennie Elliot of Culpeper; two grandchildren; two sisters, Savilla Bailey of Culpeper and Virgie Scott of Amissville; and two brothers, Clarence Scott of Castleton and Arthur Scott of Culpeper.
Her husband was the late Clarence H. Elliot.
Graveside services were at Fairview Cemetery Jan. 7. The Rev. Floyd Binns officiated.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Wade H. Massie III
Wade Hampton Massie III, 61, of Washington died Jan. 3 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
A graveside service was Jan. 6 in the family cemetery at Meadow Grove Farm near Amissville, with the Rev. Jennings Hobson III officiating.
Mr. Massie was bora Nov. 19, 1928, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Wade Hampton and Ada Mae Miller Massie. He was a lifelong farmer who followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, managing the family’s cattle and thoroughbred horse business at his Hamden Hill Farm for 40 years. He was also the chairman of the board of the Rappahannock National Bank of Washington.
