Chester Gap Carnival July 25-28 The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire : Department will hold its annual carnival ; next week, Wednesday, July 25 through : Saturday, July 28. The carnival will feature . live music eveiy night, with the Virginia Ktlravelers on Wednesday, Shenandbibicwl31^ Thursday, Mystic Sound on Friday and 1 Mixed Country on Saturday night. There will also be a horseshoe pitch Saturday afternoon beginning at 12:30 p.m. The carnival will feature plenty of food, rides for the whole family and a grand prize of $1,000, which will be awarded Saturday night. All proceeds will benefit the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department. College placement tests Students who plan to attend the ; Fauquier Center of Germanna Community " College may take placement tests and get counseling during July and August. On Aug. 9, placement tests will be given at 1 p.m., followed by student registration. Evening placement tests will be given at 7 • p.m. On Aug. 13 testing will begin at 2 ' p.m., followed by counseling from 4-7 p.m. on a walk-in basis. Returning students may register in person at the Barn until Aug. 15.
