“The ladies in town are definitely afraid,” Mr. Miller agreed. However, he added, the legal action being proposed “will not solve the problem.”
At the council’s request, Mr. Miller and Mr. Reynolds agreed to talk with the group about curbing the objectionable behavior which has become the source of complaints.
“If it doesn’t work,” Mr. Miller suggested, “then the town needs to have something else in place.”

• heard from Mr. Gooch that the voluntary recycling program continues to grow each month. He said that the town will be required by the state to develop a “strategic” waste management plan by next year, but that the town can probably “piggyback” onto the county’s plan. The town’s share of the consultant’s fee to develop the plan, he said, will be $700.
