Latin teacher
gets grant Marilyn Kay Welch has been awarded a grant from the Education Division of the National Endowment for the Humanities to study “The Songs of the Muses: Approaches to Classical Mythology.” Mrs. Welch teaches Latin at Wakefield School in Huntly, where she is known to by her students as “Magistra.” A graduate of Mercy hurst College, she lives in Basye, and commutes from southern Shenandoah County up the Valley.
