In calculating the cost of basic aid, the state uses salary figures that are typical for the state. The salary amounts that are funded are $28,113 for elementary teachers, $30,400 for secondary teachers, $44,950 for an elementary school principal, $50,305 for a secondary school principal, $9,381 for teacher’s aides and $67,285 for the school superintendent.
Other figures included in the basic aid formula are $262,370 for bus transportation, $11,079 for the school board, $106,687 for fringe benefits for support employees and $5,405 for student health care, Mr. Rickman said.
