The June food basket included: chicken franks, chicken leg quarters, McLean beef patties, turkey Kiev, cabbage, green peppers, lettuce, onions, radishes, sweet potatoes, grapefruit, oranges, cantaloupe, pineapple, popcorn, margarine, potato side dish, and Sara Lee muffins.
Maybelle Gilkey, who is on the local S.H.A.R.E. committee, stated, “If you can buy one week’s groceries for $13, it’s worth it! I haven’t been to the grocery store this week; I just bought milk, eggs, and bread to go with the S.H.A.R.E. food. That’s very economical for one week.”
The S.H.A.R.E. Host Site at Washington Baptist Church invites all Rappahannock County residents to participate in S.H.A.R.E. in July.
