Baseball Panthers
collect fifth victory
The Rappahannock High baseball team beat the George Mason Mustangs last week for the second time this year, getting 12 hits in a 10-5 pasting in Falls Church.
The win, together with a loss to Clarke at home April 20, put the Panthers’ season record at 5-7-1, 47-1 in the district. Last year the Panthers won only three games all year; this season Rappahannock has an outside shot at making the fourteam Bull Run District playoffs.
J.C. Welch started on the mound against George Mason on May 1, then Kevin Daymude came in in relief to collect the win.
Second baseman Richie Lilian!, a junior, was d-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs to lead the team offensively.
