4-H camps
This year the Rappahannock Extension Office will conduct two weeks of 4-H Camp for youth in Rappahannock. The first camp will be a 4-H Day Camp the week of June 22-26. The second camp is 4-H Overnight Camp with Fauquier County 4-H’ers the week of July 5-9.
4-H Day Camp, for children 6-12, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily June 22-26 at the 4-H Center north of Chester Gap. Bus transportation is provided by two local school bus drivers. Classes include: wildlife, crafts, archery, fishing, cooking, Indian folklore, puppetry, camp songs, sewing, art, and pet care. The cost is $25.
4-H Overnight Camp with Fauquier County, for children 9-12, is July 5-9 at the 4-H Center. Participants will participate in classes in the morning and swimming/recreational activities in the afternoon. In addition, a recreational or educational program is planned for each evening. Cost is $90. To register for either camp, stop by the Rappahannock Extension Office to get the necessary registration forms.
Auction at FHVFD
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will hold an auction at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at the fire hall. Anyone wishing to make donations or need items picked up should call 675-3067, 675-3286 or any fire department member.
Fashion show to be held
On Thursday, May 21 the Fashion and Tailoring Department of Piedmont Technical Education Center will present a fashion show “Spring Is Sewphisticated” at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium on U.S. 15 South of Culpeper. The clothing, which is being shown, has been created by the students in the class. Everyone is invited to attend.
Dance at Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the fire hall. The band “Southern Action” will be playing. Identification and proper dress is required. Call 937-4357 for more information.
