Pomographers are reeling under the onslaught of federal prosecutors and the major national-level pornographers have been convicted and have forfeited their real estate and business interest.
In U.S. v. Pryba, a Virginia couple was sentenced to prison and forfeited their business and personal real estate as a result of their federal obscenity convictions for renting obscene videos. ,
In U.S. v. Sturman, et al., a Las Vegas court accepted guilty pleas from the world’s largest pomographer, Reuben Sturman, and two of his associates Allan Berke and Ralph Levine. Their property forfeited exceeds $2 million; Sturman was fined an additional $1 million and sentenced to four years in prison.
Earlier this month, Mark Carriere and his corporation, Multi-Media Distribution Company Inc., forfeited $3.5 million after tendering guilty pleas to federal obscenity charges. Carriere is facing a potential five years in prison when he is sentenced by the court.
