Mrs. Randolph Dixon, first vice regent, read the president general’s message in which Mrs. Yochim spoke of the special events in the DAR which had occurred in April - the decision to hold the DAR Continental Congress in April and that the cornerstone of the Memorial Constitution Hall was laid in April.
Highlights of the Virginia DAR State Conference held in Richmond in March were given by Mrs. Philip Brewer, the chapter's delegate. That this is the centennial of the Virginia DAR was celebrated throughout the conference events. A memorial service is always held at the beginning of the Conference and Culpeper’s Sally Ann Board was honored at the service.
The State Regent, Mrs. H.T.N. Graves, had as one of her projects during her three-year term, a marble plaque to be installed at the\ State Capitol honoring the Virginia signers of the U.S. Constitution - James Blair, James Madison and George Washington. This plaque was dedicated at the Capitol and Mrs. Graves honored.
On the next meeting day, May 12, there will be the bus trip.
