She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Ann (Mrs. R.D.) Markham of Sperryville and Mary Jean Gordon of Alexandria; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 6 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington.
Louisa Durant
Louisa Yates Durant, 92, of Virginia Retirement Center in Fairfax, died Thursday, April 30 of pneumonia.
Mrs. Durant was born in Fauquier County, the daughter of the late E.M. and Ida Perry Yates. She had lived in Flint Hill for many years.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Georgetown and a volunteer for the Red Cross and various organizations for the blind.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Durant Lucas of Essex, Conn, and Perry Durant Jorss of Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Mary Yates Moran of Fairfax; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers, James E. Yates, Ned Yates and Frank Yates and a sister, Julia Yates Gibb.
