nock gave up four runs in the third inning, and “ran out of gas after that,” said Coach Mike Tupper. The final score was Clarke 11, Rappahannock 4. The Clarke Eagles are in second place in the district, and the win gave them a sweep of Rappahannock.
“They’re a good team, but the score should have been closer,” said Coach Tupper. “We made some terrible errors.”
Hunter Foster went three innings, taking the loss. Daymude came in in relief and finished up.
Remaining games on the schedule are at Brentsville May 8, at Central May 11, and at Strasburg May 14. The home game against SJMount Jackson May 5 was too late for deadlines.
“We probably have to win all of the rest of our games to have a chance (at the playoffs),” said Coach Tupper. With the remainder of the contests away games, that may work in the Panthers’ favor.
“We’ve been playing good ball on the road. I hope the guys have gotten their second wind,” Coach Tupper said.
