• Both drivers sustained minor injuries from an accident at the U.S. 211-522 intersection with Route 626 at Washington, said Sgt. Morris.
Ruth Keyser, 86, of Washington, was operating a 1984 Oidsmobile northbound on Route 626 when she pulled across U.S. 211-522, into the path of an oncoming 1978 Chevy, operated by 86-year-old Dorothy Jenkins of Sperryville, said Sgt. Morris.
The Olds sustained $1,500 in damages; the Chevy was destroyed.
Mrs. Keyser was charged by Trooper W.F. Herrman Jr. with failure to yield the right-of-way, said Sgt. Morris.
• Three lawnmowers were stolen from the Route 231 home of Bill Harrison in Sperryville two weeks ago, according to Sheriff John H. Woodward. Only one of the mowers can be identified by a brand name, it was a Murray. The other two were being used for parts, said the sheriff. The total value was less than $200.
• Bill Parrish of Viewtown reported the theft of four tires, four wheels, a cover and the doors from his Jeep, said Sheriff Woodward. The total value was greater than $200.
• The following tire and rescue calls were routed through the dispatch center during the past week:
