Fauquier Springs Country Club was the site on May 2 for the Rappahannock County junior-senior prom. The off-campus location was selected by the junior class, who hosted the formal event. In recent years the prom has taken place at the elementary school. Approval for moving the prom to Fauquier County was granted by the School Board on Feb. 28.
The highlight of the evening came when seniors James Roy and Jenny Foster were crowned prom king and queen amid a cascade of more than 400 balloons dropped from the ballroom ceiling.

All those interested in supporting Rappahannock High athletics now have an official forum for working together: the school’s new Boosters Club.
Organized by assistant principal Larry Carter, the club will be looking for ways to improve the school’s outside facilities, particularly fencing for the ball fields.
