• A Mexican allegedly using his deceased brother’s name and identity as a means of being in the United States was arrested April 30 in Rappahannock County, according to a statement released Tuesday by William J. Carroll, district director of the Washington Office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).

Merced Ramirez-Marta was allegedly using the identity of his late brother Alfredo, an intending immigrant. Special agents from the INS also arrested four Mexican nationals at the same time they arrested Ramirez-Marta. The arrests were made at the residence where the Mexicans were staying in Rappahannock when Ramirez-Marta went there to pick them up an<l take them to work.
